I Spy Number Words Booklet

Happy Summer!
I think I say it every time I write a post ... "It's been awhile"!

I have a number of products I used in my classroom that I plan to get ready to post in my store for you and tonight is my first of them!

My students LOVE using magnifying glasses.  When they are using them I think they are forgetting exactly how much work they are accomplishing.  After all, I keep tell them we do our activities for two reasons ... learning AND fun!

Just added to my TPT store is a quick prep printable booklet that will have your students using magnifying glasses to search for tiny number words (0-20). I have also included an optional word search that is perfect for your early finishers.  Of course, I have included an 'I can' instruction card to keep your little learners on task.

The booklets are in black and white to save your ink. I know how precious it is!  The 'I can' cards are in both color and black and white for you to choose.

I have added this learning pack to my I Spy Bundle so if you already own it please download the update and you'll get this pack too.  :)  If yo don't have it, the bundle now contains 21 I Spy activities!

In my classroom I have many magnifying glasses from the dollar store but I also have a set of these: (please note this is an affiliate link but you'll be glad you peeked!)  They allow for hands free learning, not just for I Spy but for many other activities in your classroom.

Giveaway ended As always, I'll send a copy of my newest resource, I Spy Number Words Booklet to the first 3 people who comment on this post with their email.  :)

Happy Spring!

Hello!
I am excited to say that the snow is 'almost' gone from my yard - I just have a few mounds where we piled it while clearing the driveway during the NUMEROUS storms we had this year.  Winter was not kind to us here in the north east.

Since I last wrote a post I have updated my free printable calendar for the 2019-20 school year.  You can download it HERE in my TPT store or by clicking on the photo below.

This year, for some reason, I have need to spend a fair bit of time working with doubles so I created a new math work station and posted it in my store for you.  The theme is perfect for this time of year . BUBBLES!  I am also working on a learning pack for a 'bubbles day'.  More on that in a week or two :).
If you have some of my other doubles work stations you will find this one very similar.  Students have a choice of rolling a dice or spinning a spinner, doubling the number and playing like bingo.

I have included all pages in both color and black and white and you can find it HERE in my TPT store or by clicking the photos above.

Giveaway ended - As with all my new products, I will send a copy to the first 3 people who comment on this post.  Today, I am asking you to tell me what you think I should include in my Bubble Day pack that I am working on.  P.S. Don't forget your email!

Froot Loop Math!

I admit ... every once in awhile I enjoy a bowl of Froot Loops.  Something about them brings me back to a childhood treat my parents let us buy once in awhile!    As I was enjoying a bowl recently I thought why not use them to 'make 10' or 'make 20' so I created a booklet you can use with your kiddos.
This earning pack has student mats for building ten frames with them and printable booklets.  You can choose between a 'Make 10' booklet or 'Make 20'.  Here's a peek of what's included.
I would give each student about 1/2 cup of cereal and before passing out the booklets do some sorting, estimating and counting.  Tell them they'll get to eat their counters at the end of the lesson.  :)

You can find this posted HERE in my TPT store.

Adding 10 and Counting on from 10

Adding 10 and Counting on from 10 ... there IS a difference!

Before Christmas break I was using one of the best selling math work stations in my guided math group when I thought "Why haven't I also created one that counts on from 10?????"  On the spot I came up with a new activity that approached it from a difference angle and the kids loved it.  I've turned that 'hand draw scribble' into a work station and have posted it in my store in case you have kiddos that can benefit as well.

What I have determined is that these two stations need to be used to teach adding 10 and counting on from 10 as two different skills.  The quick ability to do this will build mental math confidence.

Counting on from 10 is just that ... start with 10 and count on.
Adding 10 is just that ... start with a given number and add 10.

You can find both of these products in my TPT store HERE.

Giveaway ended  Tonight I will send a copy of BOTH of these learning packs to the first 3 people who comment on this post.  Don't forget your email!
