Currently and a winner!

Here's what I am currently up to on this cold January morning:
Let me explain:
Listening: The wind is crazy outside this morning.  The sun is shining on the beautiful white snow, but it's freezing!!  If it were a school day I'd be out in the playground on duty.  Brrrrrr....  (Don't you just love duty - NOT)

Loving: The unscheduled days of winter break.  I (only) have two children.  I seriously don't know how people with more than two keep up with homework, sports, appointments.... My oldest has his license now so that helps a bit (but adds to the worry!).

Thinking: 2012 was a challenge healthwise for my extended family.  I am hoping that 2013 brings nothing but health and happiness for my family and yours.

Wanting: a kitchen backsplash - I just can't decide!  There are so many great ideas out there that I wouldn't want to make the wrong choice.  One of these days I'll see one that I fall in love with and will order it on the spot :)

Needing: I can't bring myself to throw out the extra holiday sweets that I have around.  But I should!

One Little Word:  Time!  Time is so precious!  Spend it wisely!  Doing what you love with the people you love!

Head on over to Oh' Boy 4th Grade to see what other bloggers are CURRENTLY up to!
Before I go I must say congratulations to Kate!  She was the winner of my New Year's giveaway!  Thank you to everyone who entered yesterday.
Kate - I've sent you an email with the entire unit.  Please let me know if you don't receive it.

Have a great day everyone!

  1. I love your one word! So perfect. Easy to remember now, during winter break, but I'm sure it gets tougher! Good luck!

  3. I love your OLW. It reminds me of mine...today:) I know what you mean about munching on those holiday munchies. I can't bring myself to throw them out and once I am over this sickness, I will be right back at it!

    1. I thought of using 'today' as well. It was really hard to choose a word :) Feel better soon!

  4. I'm with you on the holiday goodies, but it's just so hard to throw perfectly yummy treats in the trash can. Especially when they are treats I probably won't make again until next year. At the same time, I don't want to gain weight. (Sigh) I like your OLW! I have a 20 year old that is a member of the Texas National Guard and he is a junior in college. My baby will graduate from high school in June, and he has plans to attend college out of state. I will be an empty nester very soon. Where did my time with them go? Time...is indeed a precious thing!

    1. Sometimes I wish I could slow time down. I'm having a hard time knowing my oldest graduates this year and my second is not too far behind. I cannot imagine being an empty nester... time is precious!

  6. This is not so much related to your currently, but I love that in your 'about me,' you talk about working to make your classroom away from home for your babies. I feel it's so important to do that in any classroom- I've always taught a high percentage of homeless/ foster care/ childrens' home students (last year, 20% of my students were homeless), and have developed a passion for reaching them and truly making them comfortable so that they can learn and enjoy it while they do!

    1. I think it's so important to make kids feel at home when they walk through my doors. In some cases it's the best part of their day. I took a peek at yoru blog and loved seeing a picture of you doing cross-stitch. My all time favorite hobby!!!
