Helping Moore Oklahoma

Like many of you, I was glued to CNN this week unable to comprehend the destruction that happened when the tornadoes touched down in Moore, Oklahoma.

We teach in schools.
We send our children to schools.
We expect them to be safe.
That didn't happen in Moore.

A couple of teacher bloggers you might know Danielle at Crayonbox Learning and V at Special Teacher for Special Kids went to work immediately and tirelessly to gather together donated resources as a way to raise money to help the schools in Moore.

In total they have created four outstanding bundles that you can purchase with 100% of the proceeds going directly to the schools in Moore.  TPT will be sending a check directly to the School District in Moore.
Covers by Wendy at Teachers Toolkit

These bundles are easy to find, but you need to hurry they are only available until Friday June 1st.

There are two bundles for K-2 and two bundles for 3-6 (including clipart).  Each bundle is $25, but are valued at a whole lot more and your donation will help such a worthy cause.  Here are the links to the bundles:

3 Addend Addition

Addition seems to have come easy for my firsties this year.  However, three addend addition seems to be a problem for some, so I created this math station (using these adorable ice cream graphics by Mel at Graphics From the Pond) to help provide a little extra practice.

The ice cream cones and scoops are large enough to use for whole class instruction and small enough to be perfect for a small group.  Students match the ice cream scoops to the matching cone (more than 15, equal to 15 or more than 15).  A recording sheet is included for accountability and to check for student understanding.  I have also included an "I can..." card to help build student independence.  I know I have said it before but I'm not sure what I did before I started using them!

This activity is available at my TPT store.

Tonight I will send a copy to the first 2 followers who can guess the flavor of my favorite ice cream.  Here's a hint - you can find it on one of my earlier ice cream posts.

Loud Cows - ou and ow

I don't know about you, but the days just seem to be flying by!  We have 24 more school days and I have NO IDEA how I'm going to get it all done.  As always, I'm sure it'll happen  :)

I just posted a new I Spy activity at my TPT store.

I made it to go with my Loud Cows I Have ... Who Has game.

In each of the activities students are focusing on words which have ou and ow.

I posted the I Spy activity both individually and included it in my I Spy Bundle.  If you have previously purchased the bundle just head on over to my store and re-download.

If you think your students would benefit from some "ou and ow" practice I hope that you will check these products out.

I will send a copy of BOTH the I Spy Loud Cows AND the I Have ... Who Has activities to the first 2 followers who comment on this post.

Have a great week!

Adding 10 (Superhero Style)

My most recent product in my TPT store has a Superhero theme.  I am LOVING the graphics and see a few more Superhero math stations in my near future :)

This product has 2 options.  One has students choose a ten frame card and add 10. Then they find the sum on their gameboard. The first to fill their gameboard is the winner.
The second is the same game with a dice choice rather than a ten frame card.

For students who find adding 10 a bit of a challenge, I have included a ten frame so they can use it to add on from their chosen number.

An "I can..." card is included for each game to build student independence. (What did I ever do before I used these?  I have nooooo idea!)

Here's a little peek:
You can find this product at my TPT store.  As usual, I'll send a copy to the first 2 followers who leave a comment on this post.

There have been over 100 entries in The Teacher Appreciation Extravaganza.  If you haven't entered or picked up the great freebies click on the picture.
Good luck!

Throughout the school year we all created Superhero math students.  What better way to encourage learning throughout the summer than to send them on their way on the last day with a hundreds chart (or 120 chart)  dice and instructions on how to play a variety of games.

I printed the 2 pages back to back, laminated it and attached 3 dice.

FRONT: choose one of these

BACK: the directions for 8 dice games

If you would like a copy you can download a copy HERE from my TPT store.
