Has it been that long???

Jaw drop (second today ... I'll say more in a minute) .... has it really been a year since I posted?????

Life has been, well you know... 2020!

Over the past month I have had a few messages asking me to update my Place Value Mystery Picture and today I finally had some time ... and energy!

Back to my first jaw drop of the day.  When I went to upload my edit I noticed that this product has been downloaded almost 100,000 times!  Say what?!?!  I cannot imagine that so many teachers and students would use my activities - heartwarming to say the least.

Mind blown!
Anyway ... the product has been uploaded and is still free.
You can downloaded it by clicking on the pictures below or HERE.

Talk soon ... I promise :)

It's finally summer and a freebie!

I have been green with envy the past month or so reading blog posts of teachers who started their summer vacation ... now, I have finally joined the relaxation!  My plans consist of lots of relaxation, family time and of course adding a few new products to my TPT store. :)

First up, I decided that this fall I will introduce my Mystery Pictures with an easier picture that uses numbers to 50.  This will be a great lesson on it's own but also be the perfect introduction to the other pictures I have them do throughout the year.

You can pick up a copy (did I mention it's FREE?) in my TPT store - enjoy!!  You can find it HERE.

February Freebie and a HUGE Update!

Happy February!!
I'm not sure about you, but I am soooo over winter!! I think it's snowed everyday for the past 3 weeks! Friday, they sent us home early which was a crazy time to get ahold of all afterschool caregivers by phone before students were put on busses.  CRAZY!!!!!!!

One good thing about the weather is that I feel a little housebound which means ... product updates and creations!!

First up  ... a little freebie that you'll find in my store.  A little subitizing review for some and much needed practice for others ... perfect for early finishers.  You'll find it HERE.
Next up ... this week I was planning some Corduroy activities for my class and realized that this learning pack needed an update .... so I recreated, from start to finish!!!!!
This book by Don Freeman is a classic, must have for every classroom!!!
You can find this HERE in my TPT store and remember, if you purchased it previously you can download the update for free!

Need a copy of the book ... you can find it on Amazon (affiliate link):

Have a wonderful week!!!!!!!

Halloween Adding 10 and a freebie

Please read to the end for the freebie :)

Hello!!  I'm not sure about you, but I am AMAZED that we are only 8 days from Halloween!

In time for your planning I have added an Adding 10 Halloween themed math station to my store.

This math work station game focuses on the skill of adding ten. Students roll a dice, add ten and then cover the number.

I have included an "I can..." student instruction card to build student independence. To help a couple of my students who need the extra support I have added included a page with a pumpkin ten frame. I will encourage them to say the number on the dice then use the ten frame to count on to get to their number.

I have also added a Roll, Add 10 and Color activity complete with an I Can... card.

Since I struggle with never have enough colored ink, both color and black and white versions are included.  You can read more about this HERE.

I've also been working on greater than, less than and equal so here's a little freebie for you.  You can download a copy by clicking on the picture below.

This can be easily differentiated by using different sided dice or rolling more than one.  There is also an 'I can" card included.  I use the student 'I can" card in a math station but this week I am using this as a whole class activity and will put the instructions on the Smartboard so everyone can see it.

As always, I'll send a copy of my newest learning pack to the first 3 people who comment on this post. :)

Number Mazes

A month or so ago you might remember I posted a 1 to 20 number maze in my store.  While looking for the post to link this one to I see that I neglected to post about it so you may or may not have seen it! - oops!!! It looks like this ...
Students subitize their way through a maze to create a 'path'.  They use numerals, ten frames, tallies, dice and dominoes to reach the finish.

If you haven;t tried the free one, please do - you can find it HERE.  Then if you like it you can look at the 12-pack :)  The free maze is not included in the pack, so even if you purchase the pack you'll still want to download the free one.

You can find the full learning pack HERE.  When trying to decide on a clip art theme I went with camping since your students will be creating a path just like these adorable hikers!

As always, the first 3 people who comment on this post will receive a copy of my newest learning pack.

New Year 2017 FREEBIE

What a whirlwind week it has been!  I knew that teaching until the 23rd would mean Christmas would be busy, but yikes - I went right from 20 super-excited, elf loving, energetic students to Christmas Eve overnight - literally!!!!!

But now ... RELAXATION is in order until January 9th!!  Netflix and I have some catching up to do!

A few weeks ago I updated my New Year's mystery picture but haven't had a chance to let you know.  Students solve to find the number, then color.
.

My kiddos get so excited when I copy the 2 pages side by side on an 11 X 17 piece of paper - which they think is a 'poster'.  :)

You can download this for FREE HERE.

I hope this helps make your January planning a little easier.  Enjoy and I'll be back in the near future with a new product I'm working on. :)

As a review of representing numbers to 20 I created a number maze of ten frames, dice, dominoes, fingers and tallies and my students had a blast!!!  So much so that I thought I'd share it with you as a freebie.

This activity really showed me who my quick subitizers were and who needed a bit more more practice.  Click HERE to download and enjoy!!

Getting ready for back to school

Summer is winding down which means my thoughts are filled with back to School.  I have 2 weeks until I head back, for those of you who are already back or start this week, I hope you quickly settle into a routine.  I'm glad I'm not back yet because I've been glued to the Olympics and staying up WAY past my bedtime. :)

I have been puttering a bit and have a few back to school things ready:

First up: a First Day of School Emotions FREEBIE.  You can download it HERE at my TPT store.

I also have a Back to School writing activity you can find HERE.
I've got my Glow Stick Editable FREEBIE printed and ready to attach my glowsticks (which I bought, put in a safe place and can't find - I know they're in a safe place which I'll find after I buy new ones).  You can download these HERE.  I just need to punch holes and slide my glowstick bracelets through the holes.
I have my First Day of School FREEBIE printed and ready to go!  You can download a copy HERE.

Today I posted my Classroom Rules.  These are the same rules I have used for years but they needed a little update.  I've made them editable so you can 'tweak' them to suit your needs.  You can find them HERE.

Would you like a copy of my Classroom Rules?  I'll send a copy to the first 3 people who comment on this post :)

Bathroom Subway Art

I must start by saying this post is not teacher related ... unless you count all the bubble baths I take in the course of a year to regain my sanity after a busy day with my firsties. :) #Ineedarelaxingspaceafteralongday

I've spent the past few days painting and sprucing up my bathroom and in the process created this bathroom subway art printable

I printed mine to fit a 5X7 frame because my space wasn't too large.  Click on the picture below to download your copy which includes a 5X7 and 8X10.  Enjoy!
I promise my next post will be classroom related :)

Number sense warm up FREEBIE

I thought I'd share a math warm up idea that I use ALL.THE.TIME!

All you need is an empty can and some pennies (or other small objects)

I have students close their eyes while I drop pennies into the can one at a time.  Afterward I see who knows how many I dropped.  I change it up by dropping 2 or more at a time for skip counting and sometimes we start with some pennies already in the can to 'count-on'.

I've posted a free printable in my store so you can jazz up your can if you wish :)  You can download it HERE.

If you have other ideas for using the listening can I'd love to hear them :)

I know that this will become a go-to activity for your class!!
Happy counting!!
