The Day the Crayons Quit

About 4 months ago I started creating activities to go with one of my favorite read alouds ... The Day the Crayons Quit by Drew Daywalt.  Now that school's out I've had a chance to put the activities into a learning pack. :)

Although this started as a small unit it ended up being 80 pages!

Inside you'll find:

opinion writing
persuasive writing
scrambled color words
point of view
character traits
using color
personification
creating a new character
alphabetical order
writing craftivity
teaching tools
writing pages
and ... I added a place value mystery picture because my students can't get enough of them!

As you can see... this unit is jam packed!

Don't have the book on hand?  Here's a link to a read aloud on YouTube by The Storybook Factory.

You can find this learning pack HERE in my TPT store.  As always, the first 3 people who leave a comment with their email will get a copy!

Did I mention who I spent my Saturday evening with???  None other than Blake Shelton!  His show was FANTASTIC!!!!!

I hope everyone is enjoying their summer and I hope to be back soon with more of my half finished products! :)

Bunny Trouble Booktivities

One of the first units I posted at my TPT store was Bunny Trouble.  Since then I have learned so much that I thought it was time for a little makeover.  So (drum roll.....) here is a peek at the new and improved version:

Bunny Trouble by Hans Wilhelm is one of my favorite Easter stories.  In this unit you'll find a variety of activities including ABC order, fiction vs. non-fiction, sentence scrambles, creative writing and many more.  If you have already purchased this unit please head over to TPT and download a new copy.

If you do not have a copy of this book you need to pick up a copy.

You can find this unit at my TPT store but I'll send a copy to the first 2 followers who leave a comment on this post.  Don't forget your email :)

Corduroy Bear Booktivities

NOTE: this product has been updated.  See the new post HERE.

For a couple of months I was on the search for the perfect clipart to use with activities to go with one of my favorite books - Corduroy by Don Freeman.  One of my students asked me why I have so many copies of the book :)  I searched so many designers and then finally decided to have a custom design made.  It was worth every penny to have Jessica Weible at JW Illustrations design this little guy for me!!!

Here's a little picture with I took with Instagram of a few of the activities.

and a preview

A few of the activities included are: ABC order, sentence scramble, true / false story statements, noun / verb / adjective word sort, and a sentence type sort.  There's even a word search which would be perfect for early finishers and probably what I think is the cutest a color by vowels activity.  Click here to find this unit at my TPT store.

Now for some winners of my recent giveaway!

The Little Mouse, the Red Ripe Strawberry and the Big Hungry Bear

This unit has been redone - please see the new post HERE.  I think you'll like the changes ;)

I Love Scaredy Squirrel!

My students simply cannot get enough of Scaredy Squirrel, by Melanie Watt each fall.  I created this unit to be used after reading the story.  If you haven't read the Scaredy Squirrel books yet what are you waiting for?  You can also find this story on Tumblebooks.

Here's a peek into what is available in this unit ~

Click here to find it at my TPT store.

I have also created a matching writing and craftivity pack.  It's perfect for Back to School and makes a great bulletin board display.
