Well...........hello there!
Between getting my classroom and my family ready for back to school my poor little blog has been neglected. But I'm happy to say that I feel organized and ready to meet my firsties on Tuesday morning!!
I've just posted a new learning pack to my store. I love my Print, Roll and Play Dice Activities so much that I made a Fall Edition.
It's packed with 12 save your ink, black and white math activities that include number bonds, ten frames, base ten, tallies, number words ...
AND each activity has a matching I can student instruction card to keep your students focused.
You can find it HERE in my TPT store.
I'd love to give a few of these away. I'll send a copy of the fall edition to the first 3 people who comment on this post. I also have it for sale in my TPT store until tomorrow night.
If you're already back to school I hope it's going well and if not good luck on your first day!

Teen Numbers!
Oh those tricky teens!
Just in time for the TPT sale tomorrow I have posted a Teen Numbers Flip Book.
It is similar to my short and long vowels flip books, so if you liked those, you'll like this one too! There are 2 print options for you to choose from and of course each option includes an "I can" card for increased on task behaviors.
Students will be cutting our 25 cards and gluing them onto the correct page. There is an assortment of ten frames, tallies, dominoes, number words and sets to be sorted.
You can find this HERE at my TPT store. Be sure to download the preview for a closer look!
As usual, I'll send a copy to the first 3 people who comment on this post :)

Do you 'Show and Tell'?
I clearly remember my first experience as a teacher with Show and Tell - I invited the entire class to bring in something to share. All I can say is "NEVER AGAIN!!"
However, students love it and it really is a great way to work on speaking and listening so I couldn;t scrap it altogether. A few years ago I finally figured it out!
So, here's how Show and Tells works in my classroom now.
However, students love it and it really is a great way to work on speaking and listening so I couldn;t scrap it altogether. A few years ago I finally figured it out!
So, here's how Show and Tells works in my classroom now.
•Whoever my special helper of the day is
gets to take home the bag that night.
•When they arrive the next morning they
keep their show and tell a secret and provide the class with 3 clues. Example – it has wheels, or I made it myself. Some students even carefully write their clues down the night before.
•They may then ask 3 students to guess
what they think it is.
•After the ‘reveal’ they tell us about it
and choose 3 students to ask them a question about their item.
I have 2 Show and Tell bags just in case a student is absent and has one at home. On the front I sew a note to explain the process which you can download for free HERE.
I laminated the sign and sewed it to the front, but you could just place it inside.
I'm so pleased with the outcome!
Just before I go... if you own my math posters that were one of my first products in my store, please redownload - they look WAY cuter now!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!!!

Data Collection (freebie)
The countdown to back to school is on! Although I am not permitted into my classroom yet (ugh!), I've been puttering at home to get things ready. Today I was getting some paperwork organized to get ready for all the data I will be collecting.
When thinking about number sense I strongly believe that skip counting is an important skill and keep track of my student's progress on this form which you can download for free HERE. We count in a variety of ways daily and it really helps them with addition and in later years multiplication.
I keep it in the math section of my data binder. You can read more about that HERE.

Wordless Wednesday
Back to School shopping! I do it for me, my own children and my entire class :)
By choice, my students bring in $40 at the start of the year and I provide all their school supplies. I LOVE having everything the same and everything I need. My husband laughs when I run from store to store getting all the sales, but there's something about a new box of crayons and a deal! :)
Just curious, do you purchase for your students or do you provide them with a list?
I've linked up with Christina for Wordless Wednesday, although I used a few ... oops!!!

Number Words freebie
Hi there!
Just a quick post today because I am spending my day packing for my Mommy / Daughter trip to see
One Direction!
She's been counting the says for months and it's finally here. We get on the tour bus tomorrow morning at 7am and travel all day arriving in Boston at 5pm. The concert isn't until Friday so we'll get to do some outlet shopping!
I never know whether to write 1D or On Direction and it got me thinking about number words.
So... I made this number words activity for your little 'Directioneers' to enjoy with number words to ten.
Students read the number word, find the numeral in the picture with Harry Styles and color by code. I've included an I Can student instruction card so you can copy and place it in a math station or early finisher bin.
I'll be posting a few non-teacher related pics on Instagram during my trip so be sure to follow me :)
If you've seen 1D in concert and have some advice, I'd love to hear it!

Long Vowels Flip Book
Vowel Flip Books part 2 :)
I've posted a Long Vowels Flip Book and am thrilled with how it turned out!!!!
I've posted a Long Vowels Flip Book and am thrilled with how it turned out!!!!
There are 25 picture cards with a long vowel sound missing. Students need to print the missing letter, color the picture (might as well put in some fine motor skill practice!) and glue them onto the correct page of the book.
I've included 2 different options for creating the book. One has you photocopy each page then have students assemble, the second uses less photocopies. Make sense? Maybe this will help:
I have included an I Can student instruction card to go with each choice making it perfect for a word work station.
I'll send a copy of the Long Vowels pack to the first 2 people who comment on this post. As well I'm giving away a copy on my Facebook page.
