Color Words

Happy Wednesday!!!  I hope your week is going well :)

Look what I've been up to ...
My students love using the mirrors and have no idea how much they're learning ... letter formation, fine motor practice, vocabulary, spelling .... they just think they're having fun!  Just the way I like it!

To do this activity students use mirrors to read backward color words and then you can differentiate the activity by choosing which activity they do.

Students read the words and print them.
or
Students read the words, print them and color crayons to match.
or
Students read the words, print them and find them in a word search

You can find this HERE at my TPT store.  It's perfect for anytime of year and I promise your students will love it!

As always, the first 3 people who comment will get a copy :)

I Spy Color Words

If you're reading this you survived Halloween!!!  Congratulations and best of luck as we all venture into tomorrow.  On the bright side it'll be Friday and the weekend will be in sight!

I have a few students who are really struggling with color words and since I know they love to use magnifying glasses I came up with a new I spy activity for them to work on.
You'll notice I used my bear clip art and buttons so I can also tie it in with my Corduroy unit.  If you haven't seen my Corduroy unit you can read about it here.

Students will use a magnifying glass to find teeny tiny words on a button and color the button to match.  I have included an "I can..." student instruction card in both color and black and white to help keep students focused.  There is also a color word anchor chart (again with color and black and white options).  If you choose to print this in black and white you'll need to color the buttons yourself.

You can find this product at my TPT store by clicking here.  It's also been added to my I Spy Bundle

so if you already own it head on over and redownload it from your purchases for free.

If you do not have the bundle and would like a copy leave a comment.  I'll send a copy to the first 3 people who leave a comment on this post.

Good luck tomorrow as we get through the day after Halloween!!!

Autism Awareness Linky Party

When I heard that Danielle at Crayonbox Learning was hosting an Autism Awareness Linky Party I just had to jump in.

My job was to create a freebie for you.  Honestly, at first I was stumped.  Then, I thought about a former student.  She understood that blue was blue and pink was pink, but when asked to sort she wanted the items to be IDENTICAL.  With that in mind, I created a sorting activity that requires students to sort buttons that have different attributes.  The buttons are different shades (light and dark) and have either 2 or 4 holes.

If you know a student who would benefit from this activity please click here to download a copy for free.

I linked this post up with Manic Monday freebies to remind you to head on over to check out lots of other freebies.

Classroom freebies

Danielle is having a Giveaway on her blog with lots of great resources. Click on the picture below to enter for your chance to win.

In addition to my freebie you can pick up lots more by clicking on the pictures below

Good luck!
