Bingo Dabber Math FUN!

A few times a year I accompany my mom to bingo.  Do I ever win? No - I consider it a donation :)  But, it's fun and those dabbers come in so many colors!!  So when I came across the cutest bingo dabber graphics I just had to make some math stations!!

Here's what's included:

pg. 3-6 Find and stamp the greatest number – Students use a bingo dabber to stamp the greatest number in a line of numbers. Two different recording sheets are included.
pg. 7-9 Stamp in order to 100 – Students start stamping at number one and stamp in order until they get to 100.
pg. 10-13 Gumball stamps – Students roll a die and stamp that many gumballs. They continue until all the gumballs are filled. There is also an option of a blank gumball machine to simply add gumballs.
pg. 14-17 Addition stamp – Students use 2 different colored bingo dabbers to show addition sets. A blank page is also included to allow for easy differentiation.
pg. 18-20 Race to 100 – Students roll a die and stamp that many numbers on a 100’s chart. Play continues until a player reaches the top.
pg. 21-23 Roll and Stamp – Students roll 2 dice and stamp the number they roll. The goal is to be the first to cover the numbers 2-12.
pg. 24-26 Even or odd? Students stamp even numbers one color and odd numbers a different color.
pg. 27-29 Stamp a pattern – Students use a variety of bingo dabber colors to stamp patterns.

Notes:
An “I can…” card is included with each activity. I find these invaluable to keep students focused and allow me to work with my focus group.
There is an option to print this entire packet in black and white. However, I also included a color “I can…” card for those who prefer color.

I have posted this at my TPT store and as always will send a copy to 2 followers who comment on this post.  I'm heading out to run some errands (including the dentist - blah!) and when I return I will choose 2 at random.  Just leave a comment with your email.

Update - WOW 26 people commented while I was out!  My daughter chose #3 and #11 as the lucky winners so I'll be sending your prize soon!  Thank you to everyone who visited today :)

And a reminder - there are still some prizes left at The Teaching Tribune's back to school event.  This includes a Nexus Tablet.  If you haven't entered today click on the picture below.  Good luck!!!

Spaghetti and Meatballs!

NOTE - this anchor chart has been updated - you can find it HERE

I ALWAYS have a few students who struggle with spaces each fall.  Some just 'get it' while others need a bit more help.  In the past I have found using spaghetti and meatball spaces the best way for them to remember so I just made this little anchor chart.

If you'd like a copy just click on the picture to download from Google Docs.

I have linked this freebie up with Manic Monday freebies because I know you love free stuff as much as I do.  Just click on the picture below to find some goodies!

Don't forget about the ongoing giveaway at The Teaching Tribune.  There are still some great prizes to win including a Nexus Tablet!

Happy Monday!!

Add or Subtract - FROGS!

I admit it, I have a slight addiction to cute clip art ;)  I came across the Funny Frogs from Graphics From the Pond and just couldn't resist!  I just had to create something so I took a break from my newest pack (which I'm excited to edit, print, try out and bring them to you!) to make this add or subtract math station.
Students work with a partner or small group.  On their turn they roll 2 dice and decide whether they want to add or subtract depending on which lily pad they want to cover.  Sounds easy, right? I wish!  An "I can..." card is included to help keep your students focused and each activity has a color and black and white option.

I have this math station in two other themes:
Ice Cream
and Strawberries!

The first 2 followers who comment on this post will receive the theme of their choice.  Please leave your email and tell me which one you would like to receive.

And don't forget - it's Day 4 of the Back to School Extravaganza at The Teaching Tribune.  There was a lucky winner of a huge gift basket yesterday and today's prize is exciting too!  I would love for one of you to win.  Just click on the picture below to enter.

Good luck!

A Revamp and a Reminder!

One of my original products at my Teachers Pay Teachers store got a little update.  I have learned so much about creating since I began and need to update a few :)

I've started with Planet Scrambled Sentences.  I have sold quite a few lately and thought it was time for a makeover. Minor changes include changing the font on the mixed up sentence cards, and adding a variety of recording sheets. The big change will also be a change for me this school year.  Over the past two years I have used "I can..." cards in all of my math stations and they have worked so well at keeping students on task.  The first thing they do is pick up the card. So I thought, maybe it's time to start using them in literacy too.  This is the first word work activity that I have added it to.  I'd love to know your thoughts????

Here's a peek...

Students need to sort picture cards by planets and then create non-fiction sentences by unscrambling.  You can find the activity HERE at my store.  If you have already purchased a copy you can redownload the update by going to your purchases at TPT.

Now for the reminder:
Yesterday my bloggy friends and I launched our new collaborative blog "The Teaching Tribune".  To celebrate we are giving away prizes everyday for 10 days!!  You have a few hours left to enter for today, then you need to enter again each day.  If you missed out yesterday click on the picture to find out more.

Are you interested in my Planet Scrambled Sentences?  If so, and you don't already have a copy leave a comment below.  I'll send a copy to the first 2 commenters.

I Spy Sight Words

In first grade we spend a lot of time practicing sight words.  I try to come up with so many fun ways to keep my students engaged, yet still learning and am excited to show you this!
I just put the finishing touches on this word work activity that I have been working on.
Hidden in each of the four pictures are 80 teeny tiny sight words.  Students need to use magnifying glasses to find them and then record them on one of the recording sheets.  To create this activity I used the first 80 high frequency Dolch sight words.

You can find this activity HERE at my TPT store.

I added it to my I Spy Bundle so if you already own it just head on over and redownload to pick up a copy :)

Would you like a copy of my newest I Spy activity?  I will send a copy of I Spy Sight Words to the first 2 followers who comment on this post.  Don't forget your email!

I wish I had taken a before shot because it was CRAZY!!

I still have some pinning and deleting to do within my boards but I am a HAPPY GIRL!

Do you pin?  If you do, why not head over to my boards and see if you are interested in any.  Click on the picture or HERE to head on over!

Happy Pinning!

Numbers 0-20 Math Stations

Finally!  After working on this unit for a few weeks it's DONE!!!
I'm a bit of a perfectionist and just kept tweaking this until I was happy.

This unit includes eight math stations that focus on the numbers zero to twenty.  Here's a little peek -
I've included ten frames, tallies, number words, base ten and numbers.  These are ready to print and add to your math tubs.  Each math station has an "I can..." card to build student independence.  For the stations that have a recording sheet I included an extra "I can..." card to give you the option of using the recording sheet or not.

You can find this unit at my TPT store.

I'm headed out for the evening, but when I return I will randomly choose 2 comments and send a free copy to the commenters.
I'm back - my daughter's soccer game ended with a score of 4-5 so she said to use those numbers :) I'll be sending the unit along soon ladies!

I'm in love ... and a new math station

You know that feeling when you open the mail and it isn't a power bill or phone bill?  Well, multiply that by 100 and you'd know how excited I was to open the mail!!!!

Looky, looky...

a new laminator!!!!!

We have a big one at school, and it works well BUT I need to turn my items in for the one person in the building who's allowed to use it AND wait until she has a big pile and some time.  Well, sometimes a girl just wants her laminating a little faster.

This Fellowes Saturn 125 is AWESOME!

When I turn it on it took less than 5 minutes to heat up then beeped to get my attention.  I was able to choose between 3 and 5 mil laminate and it heated to just the right temperature.
If you've never laminated before it's easy peasy.  Just slide the page you want to laminate into the pouch and slide it into the laminator.

It will feed itself and come out the other side.  VOILA!!!

It was so easy!  If you would like your own laminator check out mybinding.com. They're easy to work with and your teaching materials that you spend TIME and MONEY on will last a long time.

Now, if I just had a binding machine ;)

What was I laminating you ask?

I've been working away at a new unit that focuses on teen numbers and was getting a little bogged down so took a little break to use these cute ice cream graphics by Graphics From the Pond. (Yes, you've seen me use them before!)

It's a math work station perfect for the beginning of the year.  Students will either roll or spin (your choice) tally and graph.  You can find this activity at my TPT store.

I'll send a copy to the first 2 followers who comment on this post.  In your comment, I'd love to know an activity that you might like to see included in my teen numbers math work station unit :)

Students love their birthdays!

I LOVE how children look forward to their birthdays.  They start counting down months before and it seems like it takes FOREVER for their birthdays to get here.

On student birthdays I always take a few minutes for the other students to make them birthday cards.  But then there's always the question of what to do with the birthday child while the others are busy.  In the past I gave them a few minutes of free time, but then I thought ... "Why not give them something productive?".

So I created this...

It's a mystery picture that goes beyond the 100's chart to include numbers to 120.  I'm thinking that they can get it started at school then finish it up at home.  It's available at my TPT store.

I've added this to my Mystery Picture Bundle so if you have already purchased it head on over to TPT and redownload it from your purchases.

If you weren't around yesterday you have missed something BIG.  It involves freebies, a blog hop and a giveaway.  Click on the picture below to find out all about it!

As usual, I'll send a copy of my Tens and Ones Mystery Picture (Birthday) to the first 2 followers who comment on this post.
